THOUGHTS ABOUT CHAPEL
Chapel is an important part of campus life at Pacific Harbor. It is an opportunity for students to hear anointed speakers, worship God with music, and to turn their thoughts to Christ with scripture and singing. Students are required to attend Chapel and are expected to come desiring God to minister to them.
Chapel is a time to hear the word of God preached, which the scriptures say is the only way faith comes. With faith comes belief, with belief comes surrender, and with surrender comes consecration (to be set-apart). This is our mission at Pacific Harbor Christian School, to present our students with the knowledge and understanding of a Biblical Worldview, so they can go into the world and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to all whether it is in the playground, office, or school, their lives will change the world around them.
Kindergarten- High School: (9am-10am) Monday- Thursday
At the end of each quarter students are honored for their diligence in the areas of academics, attendance, and character.
SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS WEEK
We set aside the week prior to Easter to reflect and focus on the power of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Students attend Chapel Service Monday through Thursday this week.
Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend our weekly and special school chapel services.
Each quarter we focus on a particular Christian Character trait that we will reinforce in our students character development. These qualities are Christ-like and encourage all of us to strive toward excellence in our daily living.
Teachers reward students with Character Slips to be placed in a classroom Character Trait Box. During our quarterly Awards Chapel names are drawn for an additional reward for displaying Christ-like character.
SPECIAL SCHOOL PROGRAMS:
Throughout the year we support the efforts of local ministries and our community through service based projects. During the month of November we collect non-perishable food items and create Blessing Boxes for families in need, in December we donate clothes, blankets, and personal care items to a local women's home, and in the spring we host a Worship Fest in which the community, church, and school families are invited to join us in an evening of praise and worship led by our students. In May we host a music and art night to show how we glorify God with our many talents.
