OUR PHILOSOPHY ON COMMUNICATION
In an effort to build strong bonds and to develop a bridge between home and school, Pacific Harbor’s philosophy concerning communication is based on the following principles:
It is our desire to give our families clear guidelines and direct information in an effort to make the student’s school year a success.
Below are some of the forms of documentation we issue to help communicate to our families, all documents are available on our school website. If you don’t have a computer, please notify the office and we will send copies home with your child.Newsletter/Assignment Book – A weekly update for grades K-8th will be posted on our website. Grades 3 – 8 will also keep an assignment book. These communications will be sent home to help parents be informed of work and upcoming events. It is the parent and student’s responsibility to keep up with assignments. Students write their weekly assignments every Monday in their Assignment Book.Communication Envelope – Every Friday, students will bring home a Communication Envelope with flyers for the week and graded assignments. Please return your envelope every Monday, signed by the parent/guardian with any communication you may want to send to the teacher. This is a graded requirement.Edline: 1st-8th grade parents are able to stay current with their child's academic grades, test scores, and homework grades by logging into Edline. The grades are updated every Friday by 5:00pm.Teacher Newsletters: K-6th grade teachers post a weekly newsletter on Edline and on our school website in What's Happening. The teachers communicate upcoming class activities, homework and test dates, and other important information to parents on this weekly newsletter.Monthly Calendar – This is sent home monthly in the student’s communication envelope. This calendar is a tool used to help families stay current with upcoming events as well as the dress uniform for each day. We recommend posting it in a visible location at home.Mariner’s Café Menu – Sent home each month in Communication Envelope for preordered hot lunches from our cafeWebsite – www.pacificharborshool.netE-mail – email@example.com
